Welcome to Class 5!
It is great to be back at school. We are continuing our topic on the Victorians this half term. We look at the seaside and activities people participated in whilst on holiday. Also, we will be designing puppets and writing our own puppet show

Violin Lessons
Class 5 have violin lessons with Mrs Dawson every Wednesday afternoon.
Our lessons are progressing well and children are learning a variety of musical skills. Our first recital took place at the end of Autumn term and our next will be in Summer term to showcase our musical talent.
Topic
Our topic is focused on the Victorian period. We will look at Queen Victoria and her coronation and what life was like for children at this time. Life in the workshouse will be another focus of our topic.
In DT we will be designing and making our own puppets.
In Science we will learn about different forces and their effects.
Swimming
Children have been participating in swimming lessons, throughout Spring term, at Sowerby Bridge Pool. These will continue up until the Easter Holidays.
Class Assembly
Our next class assembly will take place on Tuesday 30th June.
