Headteacher's Message

Welcome to the Burnley Road Academy website. I hope you have time to explore and that you enjoy your visit. The site contains lots of information about the work we do and it is updated regularly. If you can’t find the information you are looking for please don’t hesitate to contact us.

At Burnley Road Academy we have a highly committed and professional staff dedicated to supporting and guiding your child's development. We value the partnership between home and school and we have an "open door" policy which means parents and guardians are welcome to visit and discuss things whenever necessary.

The happiness, well-being and success of every child are of utmost importance to us and it is only through a supportive partnership between child, parent and school that we can achieve this. We hope to work together to help your child become the very best they can be.

Read more about our aims on the Academy Aims page.

I look forward to working with you and your children.

Our School Council's Message

Pupils from each class are voted into the School Council by other pupils in the class democratically each year. They meet every regulalry to discuss changes and make choices about school life.

Burnley Road is a brilliant school. There are two playgrounds and lots of climbing equipment. We also have our own woodland areas and a massive field - they're great for Forest Activities.

Our teachers are really kind and caring, they always do their best to help us and they try to make lessons fun. They take us on trips to places like Tropical World and invite visitors into school e.g. Skip2bfit.

Our Year 6 children are Prefects. They help children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, e.g. they look after them on the way to and from assembly and sometimes during wet playtimes.

Year 5 and 6 are great reading buddies for younger children.

We have a head boy and girl: Ethan and Rowan. They are great ambassadors for our school - their main jobs are showing new parents around school and giving out awards in our celebration assembly.

We try our best to be healthy and our Year 5 Phunky Foods Ambassadors help us by leading assemblies and running competitions.
